Point-of-Care Ultrasound Health Screening (POCUS)

Advanced diagnostic imaging performed by Emergency Room physicians. Bringing hospital-grade assessments to preventive health optimization. This service is only available as an addition to our Longevity / Executive Health Assessment Programs

From Emergency Medicine to Preventive Excellence

Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) was pioneered in emergency departments for rapid, life-saving diagnostics. Today, this powerful technology has evolved into an invaluable tool for executive health assessment and longevity optimization.

At Pure, our POCUS screenings are performed exclusively by Emergency Room physicians who are specially trained and certified in advanced ultrasound techniques, bringing emergency medicine precision to proactive health management.

Non-Invasive Visualization of Your
Internal Health

No radiation. No contrast dye. No missed pathology hiding between normal lab values.

Clinical Validation

Proven accuracy for cardiovascular, pulmonary, and organ assessment.

Preventive Health Applications

Now optimized for early detection and executive health optimization.

Comprehensive Organ System Assessment

Blood work and vital signs tell you about biochemistry and physiology. But they can’t show you what’s actually happening inside your organs. Some conditions develop silently for years, undetectable by traditional screening methods. Close this gap in your health.
Five critical screening components performed in a single, non-invasive session.

Cardiovascular System

CIMT (Carotid Intima-Media Thickness) measures arterial wall inflammation and plaque burden—detecting cardiovascular risk years before symptoms appear.

Echocardiography evaluates heart pumping efficiency (LVEF), right heart function (RV TAPSE), and valve competency.

Who Should Be Screened:
  • Family history of heart disease or stroke
  • High cholesterol, blood pressure, or diabetes
  • Smokers or former smokers
  • Sedentary lifestyle or high stress levels
  • Men 40+ and women 50+ (general screening)

Pulmonary System

Lung ultrasound rapidly assesses respiratory function, detecting fluid accumulation (B-lines), pleural effusion, and confirming normal lung sliding—critical for early detection of heart failure and lung disease.

Who Should Be Screened:
  • History of smoking or vaping
  • Chronic respiratory symptoms (shortness of breath, cough)
  • Occupational exposures (construction, mining, chemicals)
  • Sleep apnea or cardiac disease
  • Athletes monitoring respiratory capacity

Liver Assessment

Evaluates liver size, echogenicity (texture/brightness), and attenuation to detect abnormalities associated with fatty liver disease, inflammation, and metabolic dysfunction that is often reversible with lifestyle intervention when caught early.

Who Should Be Screened:
  • Regular alcohol consumption
  • Elevated liver enzymes (ALT, AST, GGT)
  • Metabolic syndrome or insulin resistance
  • Obesity or rapid weight changes
  • History of hepatitis or medication use affecting liver

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm

Screens the abdominal aorta for abnormal bulging that can lead to catastrophic rupture. Early detection allows for monitoring or elective surgical repair before emergency occurs.

Who Should Be Screened:
  • Men 65-75 who have ever smoked (mandatory screening)
  • Family history of AAA
  • Peripheral vascular disease
  • Chronic hypertension
  • Connective tissue disorders

Kidneys & Bladder

Assesses kidney size, structure, and symmetry to identify hydronephrosis (fluid backup), cysts, stones, or signs of chronic kidney disease.

Who Should Be Screened:
  • Diabetes or hypertension (leading causes of kidney disease)
  • History of kidney stones or urinary infections
  • Family history of kidney disease or cysts
  • Elevated creatinine or abnormal urinalysis
  • Prostate symptoms or urinary retention concerns
