We would like to congratulate Kurt Keats on having competed in the 2014 World Junior “A” Challenge this past month. This was Kurt’s third year being selected to play for Canada’s Team West which is one of two teams that Canada sends to the tournament. Team West selects 22 players throughout Canada Junior Hockey League’s five western teams: the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL), Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL), Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) and Superior International Junior Hockey League (SIJHL). Keats, who plays on the Powell River Kings of the BCHL, has excelled to be one of the top threats of the league; averaging 1.3 points per game (23g, 13a in 30 games). Kurt has been training with the Pure staff for his entire career and has shown that hard work pays off – his work ethic is second to none. It has been a pleasure working with Kurt as he excels on and off the ice, and we were not surprised when we heard he was selected to represent Canada in the World Junior “A” Challenge!
