We have always tried to counsel our clients to choose the healthy, nutrient dense options when planning their meals and snacks throughout the day. We live in a fast-moving world of convenience, and as such our foods have evolved the same way. We process our foods to not only allow for longer shelf life, but also to allow for mass quantities to be made to keep up with the demands of our commercial world. I encourage everyone reading this post to have a critical look at their current diet and see where there can be areas of improvement. This post is written to make you think, to do some research, and to make smart choices when it comes to the way you treat your body with nutrition.
Please have a look at the following link http://myvega.com/vega-life/recipe-center/ to see how you can learn to put the same energy you place into your workouts into your food choices.
4 Simples rules to follow that will allow for success in the kitchen:
1) Clean house; throw away the old food at the back of the fridge, clean the cupboards and remove any items that should not be there, including all junk food. If it’s not in the house there is no temptation to eat it
2) Organize the Kitchen; create spaces for food groups, allow for easy access of key ingredients, glass jars are an excellent way to separate ingredients as well as help you realize if you are running low.
3) NEVER allow your kitchen to run out of key ingredients; such as Quinoa, avocado, lean protein sources…
4) Before grocery shopping; always make a meal plan and stop shopping on the fly, be prepared and you will no longer allow food to go to waste.
Reducing the stress of cooking can go a long way to allow for a healthy kitchen and a healthy diet!!!
